Jeddah: F1 Academy - Scarlett Archer

This past weekend saw F1 in action at Jeddah’s Corniche Circuit, and it was spectacular. Under the Saudi Arabian floodlights, Chloe Chambers, representing Campos/Haas, claimed pole position with an impressive lap time of 2:04.320. She slipped past Doriane Pin of Prema/Mercedes and Maya Weug from Prema/Ferrari. It promised a fantastic weekend of motorsport.

In Race 1, the reversed grid gave Ella Lloyd, backed by McLaren, a golden opportunity at the front. She seized the opportunity, securing her first-ever F1 Academy victory. Alisha Palmowski, racing for Rodin/Red Bull, secured second, while Chambers showcased her skill, charging through the pack to take third.

Race 2 belonged to Doriane Pin. After a disappointing eighth-place finish in Race 1, she bounced back with a commanding performance in the feature race, crossing the finish line first. Maya Weug followed in second, with Palmowski rounding out the podium in third.

The demanding Jeddah Corniche Circuit, with its walls close to the narrow track and demanding 27 corners, tested every driver’s accuracy and courage. Yet, these talented young women tackled it with remarkable skill.

As the F1 Academy heads to Miami from May 2 to 4, all eyes are on Pin to see if she can maintain her championship lead and on Chambers to chase her first win of the season. One thing is certain: the future of racing is bright, and these drivers are proving they belong at the top.
